  • College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. . . development and execution of partnerships with historically Black colleges and universities, as well as program design for effort to support research by and about women in field of seed science in Honduras, Nepal and Ghana.

  • School of Education. . . strategy, content and coordination support to 8-member team of faculty from ISU and four other universities, businesses and non-profits on proposal to design, build, and evaluate how 3D mobile gaming impacts science literacy and ethical decision-making among teens.

  • College of Engineering. . . commissioned study to assess climate for diversity and inclusion of undergraduate female students in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

  • College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. . . strategy, content and coordination support to multi-disciplinary team of 10 faculty on proposal to increase student engagement and success in STEM.

  • College of Veterinary Medicine. . . proposal development and coordination support for proposal to support research and regulatory approval of new drug to combat hydrogen sulfide poisoning.

Working with the Entrepreneurship Center provided project management support for the Mentor-Protégé program and for commissioned research study for the Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC) to assess risks, benefits and costs on the use of social media as a management tool in senior-level decision making.  Working with the Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership, provided program design and proposal development support for efforts to increase student leadership development, research, and curricular and co-curricular programs with national and international partners.

Bryn Mawr College

On team commissioned by chair of mathematics to organize national conference of faculty, higher education administrators, federal funding agencies, private foundations and graduate students to explore strategies to increase student diversity in graduate programs in mathematics; co-edited conference proceedings, "Promoting Diversity at the Graduate Level in Mathematics," funded and distributed nationally by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI).


Durban University of Technology  

Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province (SOUTH AFRICA)

Provided in‐country training and follow‐up support to expand course design to integrate visual media, oral histories and community engagement. Effort resulted in three documentaries which were conceived, filmed, directed and produced by faculty/student teams. The documentaries were shown before an audience of university, community and policymakers and laid the groundwork for greater communication with external stakeholders, as well as future private/public/ community partnerships.

Policy Analysis and Capacity Enhancement Unit

Pretoria, Gauteng Province (SOUTH AFRICA)

As an appointed Visiting Fellow in the Policy Analysis and Capacity Enhancement Unit, provided on-site training and consultation to senior administrators and mid-level managers; conducted strategic and operational planning; provided systems to support, expand and diversify resource development; helped build organizational visibility and "brand" awareness; worked with U.S.-based college and university partnerships for research and student internships related to gender and development, women's health, sexual identity, and HIV/AIDS.


Mangosuthu University of Technology

Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province (SOUTH AFRICA)

Provided consultation to the Vice Chancellor, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, and Deputy Director of Development in strategic planning and unit-level operational planning. Also designed and delivered in-country workshops to increase faculty grantsmanship skills and increase administrative capacity in the areas of grants and contracts, alumni development, and marketing and communications.


Peralta Community College District

California (USA)

Peralta Community College District, comprised of Berkeley City, Alameda, Laney, and Merritt colleges, provides accessible, high quality education and services to meet the needs of multi-cultural communities in the East Bay region of California.  PfEd has been working with Peralta as the district expands its capacity to design and develop pathway programs to increase student degree attainment and entry into careers in cyber-security and other science, engineering and mathematics disciplines.
